| Tackling health inequalities is a key health theme for the UK Presidency of the European Union. On 17-18 October, a summit on Tackling Health Inequalities: Governing for Health Summit will take place in London. The meeting will set out the scale of the health gap within countries across Europe – and explore the scope for action on social and economic determinants of health, such as poverty, education and social welfare, as well as key health determinants including nutrition, smoking and alcohol.
