Learning how to respect yourself |
|
The smoker/non-smoker antagonism is increasing in many places. Everybody has experienced it, often in public spaces or at work.
Smokers feel rejected as they feel that their freedom is being brought into question.
Non-smokers, on the other hand, consider their freedom restricted as soon as they smell tobacco.
Compromise is not always easy, especially if there isn’t a minimum amount of courtesy and respect.
However, remember that specific laws regulate smoking in public spaces and work areas. These laws are not punitive but stem from concerns about public health.
In the long run, it will always be best if smokers and non-smokers demonstrate tolerance and mutual respect. |
